The nearest town is Sagara (approx. 10 km) with good railroad connection. The nearest airport is Shivamogga (approx. 70 km) or Mangaluru (approx. 200 km) on the coast. It is at a distance of about 370 km from Bengaluru and is well connected by trains and buses (Bengaluru to Sagara). There is a direct non-AC sleeper bus till Heggodu from Bengaluru.

Best Time to Visit
The autumn / winter months between Septemper and February have a pleasant weather, clear skies and a chill in the air. Even though this is the best season to visit, the monsoon months between June and August is an unforgettable experience of the Malnad rains. But rainy season is also when dyeing slows down and some areas become inaccessible. The summer months are hot, but also an active time for production, especially indigo dyeing. The campus will be closed on Sundays, National holidays and major festivals.
